What is Woo Kickboxing?

practicing jiu-jitsuThe most challenging Kickboxing/Cardio Fitness class in the Southern New Hampshire area. Our Kickboxing program is not your ordinary cardio kickboxing class. We target the entire body to give you the most maximum workout you have ever experienced. Kickboxing, strength training, core stability enhancement, body sculpting, cardio blasting and so much more. Our program has a Muay Thai Kickboxing base but also adds elements of Western Boxing and American Kickboxing as well. You will learn the basics of Kickboxing but we add calisthenics, plyometric, isometric and body weight exercises to the repertoire.

Class Duration: Each Kickboxing class runs approximately one hour.
Attire: Wear what you want! Comfortable gym type clothes is fine! Just be prepared to Sweat and bring water!
Equipment: You will need Boxing Gloves. Boxing gloves are sold in our Pro Shop and start at $35 and up. We can lend you a pair on your FREE trial class.

Our Adult Kickboxing Program runs 6 days a week! You have 8 classes per week to choose from!

Teen Kickboxing/MMA

Ages 13+

teens practicing The Teen Division Kickboxing/MMA program is geared towards kids ages 13+. We decided to allow the "teens" to take it to the next level and train with age appropriate students. In this program, students will learn the entire Junior Division Kickboxing curriculum as well as being introduced to the sport of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). MMA is a blend of different types of martial arts such as Muay Thai Kickboxing, Wrestling, Judo, Boxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Not only do they learn the different ranges of fighting but also how to defend in those ranges. They will learn to strike, the clinch, takedowns, and submissions. It is a fun and exciting class and the workout they will get is amazing! Students will be introduced to sparring with one another in this class. They will be required to purchase the following equipment from the Pro Shop: Headgear, Shin Guards, and Mouthpiece.

Junior Division Kickboxing

Ages 8 - 12

juniors practicing Woo Kickboxing Academy has it's Junior Division Kickboxing Classes for children ages 8-12. Our Junior Division Kickboxing Program is a martial arts class that is based upon Muay Thai Kickboxing, Western Boxing basics, and exercise drills. Your child will have fun and stay healthy as they do exciting kickboxing and boxing drills designed specifically for kids.

The children learn to use different types of punching bags and do exciting drills on various types of equipment. They are always treated as individuals and classes take on a semi private atmosphere. In our class, they will learn kickboxing techniques with different strikes and kicks. The equipment they will use will be focus mitts, kicking shields, and heavy bags. They will be taught age-appropriate strength training exercises, and they will improve agility with drills and obstacle courses. Children are also introduced to ab work, plyometric and balance exercises as well as Self Defense Techniques.

Kickboxing allows children to increase strength and flexibility and improve coordination. Not only do children learn important self-defense techniques, but they can also better excel at other sports and school work due to their increased focus and body awareness.

This is a great way for a child to learn real self defense that works in and out the gym and help them channel their endless energy. Many children go on to compete and many enjoy staying in shape and learn life long disciplines to stay healthy and to protect themselves.

We have a strict no bullying policy and children are repeatedly taught not to engage in fighting at school and not to brag about their abilities. Our classes will help students reach high levels of physical ability. However, we believe that the most important elements that children will develop from our kickboxing classes are the importance of hard work, discipline, and respect for themselves and others.

Mighty Mites Division Kickboxing

Ages 4 to 7

Mighty Mite Kickboxing programOur Mighty Mites Program is a preliminary martial arts training course that focuses on building 4-7 year old capabilities; physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually. In our Program, kids will refine their gross motor skills through basic martial arts training, while building a strong foundation in basic social and physical skills. These basic skills include: Teamwork, Self Control, Discipline, Balance, Memory, Discipline, Fitness, Focus, Coordination, and Listening. All of these skills are very important for your child to have in school or with any other sports / activities they may participate in. The more exposure to proper development in each of these skills, the better your child will be.

In our Mighty Mites program, your child will train in an environment that is just right for them. They will train with other children in their age group, and not have to be limited or overwhelmed by older children. Each class will accommodate every students skills and abilities in a way that is not overly demanding or intimidating. That means more age-specific instruction with better results. We guarantee it!
